What's it about? Bypassing the usual route of horror and space battles, this sci-fi flick adds a romantic comedy twist as an American football star (Warren Beatty) is taken away from his body by an over-anxious angel before he was supposed to die, returning to Earth in the body of a recently-murdered millionaire.

Why's it better? Beatty wrote, produced, directed and starred (earning Oscar nominations in all four categories) in this infectiously fun take on 1941's 'Here Comes Mr Jordan' - a classic in its own right. But with a hilariously moving quick fire script and Beatty's perfect chemistry between Julie Christie and James Mason, this triumphs.
