6. Winston Churchill
Despite being voted as the greatest PM in a 2000 poll, the 106 UK-based academics scored the famous PM much lower, dipping down to sixth place.
Had the poll included his victory war time days (1940-1945) he would perhaps have fared much better, however he was not seen as a great peacetime leader.
