2008 also revealed that as more and more people lose their jobs, the ones who still have theirs will do anything to keep them – including taking a pay cut or a demotion to stay on the team.
Similarly in conjunction to 2008's turbulent year, many employees in January 2009 did not engage in what's known as the 'great escape' (migrating to a new job for a new year). The uncertainty of finances was hailed as one of the chief reasons.
