7) What a piece of work is a man: The Bard’s prolific output
Shakespeare wrote 37 plays and 154 sonnets during his busy life which amounts to roughly one and a half plays each year since he started writing back in 1589. His last was The Two Noble Kinsmen, penned when he was roughly 49 years old while juggling a hectic schedule of family, business and running an acting and theatre company.
