10) Fire burn and cauldron bubble: Shakespeare’s play brings the house down
Shakespeare’s beloved Globe Theatre burnt to the ground on June 29th 1613 during a performance of Henry VIII in which a prop cannon’s shot set fire to the building after igniting the thatched roof. Within two hours, the Globe was leveled, but was rebuilt in 1614, a year later.
