The Crazy Frog was originally invented to promote mobile phone ring tones but it all got out of hand with the annoying amphibian scored a No 1 hit across most of Europe with 'Axel F' (a poor rehash of the 'Beverly Hills Cop' theme tune). Soon enough there was games, merchandise and even a greatest hits compilation.
