Short sides, top and front with a mammoth growth on the back defined the mullet – the quintessential haircut of the 80s. Before long it wrapped its flowing locks around stars of screen, music and sport. Thankfully many of the guilty parties were successfully punished for their follicle abuse and by the 90s were deemed bald. Justice at last!
