After verging into darker territories for her prior work, wailing English rock chick PJ Harvey opted for pastures new even if they werenÂ’t all that brighter.
She summed up the album's feel to Q Magazine with: "I want absolute beauty. I want this album to sing and fly and be full of reverb and lush layers of melody. I want it to be my beautiful, sumptuous, lovely piece of work." And it was.
