Is Britain becoming a surveillance society?
Watch the skies
The British Government is set to put unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) into the skies above the UK. The planes, which are already on active duty in Iraq and Afghanistan for purposes of counter terrorism, will be fully operational by 2011 and are believed to be similar to Boeing's prototype X-45C (pictured).
In addition to the advanced technology these planes already carry the Ministry of Defence is researching even more sophisticated monitoring equipment that allows them to secretly track and photograph suspects without their knowledge.
