Few men or women have personally explored space, but for many, the definitive astronaut is Armstrong – the first man to ever step foot on the moon following the successful Apollo 11 moon landing.

While this is a monumental feat in technological development, the mission is also responsible for inspiring many of the millions who watched the coverage to discover that inner-explorer.
