Another brilliant actor and heartthrob who died before his time, the ‘Rebel Without a Cause’ legend finished filming all of his scenes for George Stevens’ oil epic just days before his death in a car crash.

His larger than life performance, that saw him go from innocent landowner to a shattered oil magnate, secured him his second posthumous Best Actor Oscar nomination – all the more impressive seeing that he only took the leading role in three films in total.
