No stranger to a controversial comment, it seems Russell's at it again, this time causing outrage by remarking that the Paralympics had a "novelty" value.

He told his audience at a gig:

"I donÂ’t give a f*** about the Olympics. ItÂ’s boring Blue Peter sport and a waste of taxpayers' money.

"At least the Paralympics have some kind of novelty value or something."

A host of athletes have slammed the 36-year-old for his comments, with Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson saying his remarks were both careless and irresponsible.
