Britain's most stolen cars
The fourth most stolen car in Britain is the...
Austin/Rover Metro/100: In their heyday, Metros were a firm favourite with British motorists. From 1980 to 1998, over 1,370,000 Metros flew out of the showroom. These days, however, Metros are the nation's seventh most scrapped car.
Why thieves like it: The Metro/100 may not be as easy on the eye as some of its rivals, but it's depressingly easy to break into. Weak locks and a feeble steering lock leave the Metro/100 wide open to joyriders.
How to stop it being stolen: Try fitting a good quality steering lock.
