Ali was stripped of his world title and sent to jail for his refusal to fight in the Vietnam War. On his return, he was faced with the indestructible George Foreman and knocked him out in the eighth round.

But in 1978 his crown was taken again by Leon Spinks. But a rematch left no doubt as to who was 'The Greatest' – and Ali regained his title.
