Back in the days when all it took for a movie poster to succeed was a picture of Tom Cruise's face, 'Vanilla Sky' wasn't all that easy. Cameron Crowe's convoluted remake of the Spanish mystery classic 'Open Your Eyes' recruited the original's star Penelope Cruz but also added some Hollywood shine via Cameron Diaz and Kurt Russell.

It told the story of a rich man (Cruise) who has a car crash causing his face to be disfigured after which his world becomes increasingly unstable and fantasy-like, but that's as far as most plot synopsises went. The rest we'll leave to you...
