Peter Coates certainly loves to invest in his boyhood team after buying the Stoke City twice. The owner initially sold the club in 1999 after fans protested against him.

In 2006, however, he and his company Kidsgrove Road bought back the club for an estimated £1.7million and invested a further £3.5million in order to rid their debts.
