On December 16 2000, it took 400 riot police with dogs and helicopters to quell rioting in Den Bosch, about 60 miles south of Amsterdam.

Hooligans set fire to parked cars and buildings, including a blood bank. Several rioters smashed their own vehicles into police cars. One hooligan was shot dead by the police.
