While never actually elected in office, Beatty has been a steadfast political activist over the last four decades and despite declining to run for the presidency in 2000 he admitted that he may consider it in the future.

The 'Bonnie and Clyde' star has made his political views known in the hilariously scathing 'Bulworth' which he wrote, produced, directed and starred as Senator Bulworth, a depressed politician who hires an assassin to kill him so his family can collect on the insurance. This prompts him to start spilling his opinions on politics as he no longer cares for his reputation making him a public icon.
