In 2009 there were few places you could go and manage to escpe talk of Susan Boyle or "Su-Bo" as she was dubbed by the tabloids.

She went from an unheard of middle-aged Scottish gal to overnight internet sensation after a startling peformance of the classic 'I Dreamed a Dream' from Les Miserables. It was soon clear she  would become a finalist in the ITV talent contest, even back by Hollywood star Demi Moore.
