Louis Smith, the Strictly Come Dancing champion, has hinted that he might be ready to say goodbye to gymnastics for the meantime and that he is open to a lucrative offer to star in his own reality TV show. Experts from showbusiness think that Louis could make £2million next year.
Strictly Come Dancing finale, which was held last Saturday, has attracted 14million viewers. Louis Smith was hailed as the champion together with her professional dance partner Flavia Cacace. The duo beat TV presenter Denise Van Outen, actress Dani Harmer, and singer Kimberley Walsh.
Louis has always been the viewers’ favourite since day one. With bare torso and with him doing jumping splits, forward somersaults, and backflips, he clearly had an advantage over his competitor from the get-go.
Denise Van Outen was the first one to perform during Saturday’s finale. Even though she made one obvious error and had lost timing with her partner, she still got 39 out of 40 points. Dani Harmer, on the other hand, settled for a disappointing score of 36 because of her unimpressive dance number. Kimberley Walsh, who was described by Bruno as “beautiful and shining like a diamond” also got 39 points.
Louis, who performed last, also got 39. However, judging from the ecstatic cheers, it was very clear that he was the runaway favourite of the audience.
