StarLeaf Video Conferencing
UK StarLeaf could be British Zoom.
06:38 21 September 2020
Watford-based StarLeaf, the creator of a video meeting software, could soon become the British Zoom.
Video conferencing is now bigger than ever. The technology is playing a huge, even a pivotal role during the pandemic as many employees are still not 100per cent confident to return to the office. This makes the technology a necessity until the pandemic blows over.
Mark Richer, StarLeaf CEO said: "We've been in this business for more than a decade and the need for secure cloud-based video conferencing technology was growing steadily, even before the lockdown. Video meetings will help to bridge the gap between those who want to, and can, return to offices and those who can't.
"We have had over 1,000per cent increase in growth from January to April. We helped some of our biggest customers to get all of their people onto StarLeaf, including huge NHS Trusts like Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. When the crisis hit, we launched a new free plan and we're still seeing a lot of people downloading and using this, before switching up to a business plan. Many organisations are now looking again at what they are using for video meetings because what they quickly put in place for the pandemic isn't necessarily the best long-term solution for them."
