Sky’s TV broadband advert banned following a complaint from rival Virgin Media.

A Sky broadband ad, which featured the cast of The Secret Life of Pets, was banned. Its rival, Virgin Media, challenged a claim in the ad that Sky broadband was “super reliable.”
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) found Sky’s ad, which shows a dog becoming frustrated with its broadband connectivity, to be misleading because it implied that all of the company’s broadband packages were super-reliable.
"That is not the case for Sky's ADSL2+ package," the ASA said in its summing up.
This is not the first time that a Sky ad was banned. One of its ads that featured Lego Batman was also banned for misleadingly claiming to offer the UK’s lowest-priced fibre.
Meanwhile, Virgin Media has also had a broadband ad banned after BT and Sky complained to ASA over misleading claims about broadband speeds.
