A homeless man who allegedly broke into the home of actor LL Cool J in California has now been charged with burglary.
The man, Jonathan Kirby, may face a life imprisonment sentence or at least 38 years after he was charged with first-degree burglary with a person present.
Prosecutors at the Los Angeles County are asking for a bail of $1.1 million. Kirby, 56, has been previously convicted of at least two serious crimes.
Kirby, however, is still in the hospital recovering from a broken nose, jaw, and ribs after LL Cool J found him in the kitchen and took him down in a ‘knock-out’ fight until the police arrived.
The NCIS: Los Angeles actor, who plays a special agent on the show, will not be charged for the incident because detectives are ruling out his actions as self-defense.
The representative of the actor also came out to say: “As a father, husband and citizen, he is committed to keeping his family safe and is cooperating with authorities on this private matter.”
LL Cool J also extended his gratitude to fans for ‘their thoughts and concern’. His representative assured that the actor and his family are all safe.
