Singer Katherine Jenkins has strongly denied rumours about an affair with David Beckham. The singer took to Twitter and said that she met Beckham only twice and that she has never been alone with him. 

 

Although many people hadn’t even heard of the rumours until Katherine’s tweets, the singer nevertheless set the record straight by saying that the rumours were ‘hurtful and untrue’. 

 

Some people are criticising Katherine, however, for drawing people’s attention to rumours that did not even attract much attention. 

 

She began with: “Dear Twitter friends, I’ve read some horrible rumours on here and want u 2 know I absolutely deny I’ve had an affair with David Beckham.”

 

She also said that her lawyers have told her that the rumours were ‘actionable’. She clarified that she only met David once at the Military Awards in 2010 and again on a night out at the West End in February of 2012. 

 

Meanwhile, Beckham’s representative has also released a statement, saying: “Unfortunately, we have to deal with this type of nonsense on Twitter. One minute David is dead…then a more scurrilous rumour, there is not one jot of truth to any of it.”

 

The said rumours, however, sparked shortly after Katherine moved to Los Angeles for an appearance on Dancing With The Stars.
