Another fact? At the time of publication it was classified as a scientific romance. Since then itÂ’s become a sci-fi classic that has influenced stacks of books and spawned several films, TV series, radio dramas, comic book adaptations, and various sequels. War of the Worlds also inspired a young rocket maker called Robert H. Goddard. His work would ultimately lead to the real Apollo space missions!
