Brunner, a Nazi war criminal, held command of the Drancy internment camp from 1943 to 1944. He is held responsible for deportation of 128,500 Jews to Nazi death camps.
Believed to be the highest-ranking Nazi fugitive alive today, he has been sentenced in absentia for life for crimes against humanity, yet he has never been apprehended to serve the sentence.
