It was one of the world's first fully digital recordings, as well as Steely Dan founder Donald Fagen's first solo outing, but for all the groundbreaking at the time of its release in 1982, its themes were deeply rooted in the late 50s and early 60s. Whatever the time, it's remained a classic.
