8. Laurence Olivier – ‘The Jazz Singer’ (1980)
Laurence Olivier may have been one of the greatest stage actors of time, but get him in front of a camera for a hefty pay cheque and it all goes down hill. ‘The Jazz Singer’ is no exception. Any film that features Neil Diamond in a lead acting role was never going to be a critical success, but even worse than Diamond’s Razzie Award winning performance was Olivier’s German-ish accent.
Cast as Diamond’s father, his most laughable moment is when he whimpers “I hef no son!”. The audience didn’t doubt him for a second. Check out the ridiculously hammed up scene in question below:
