Schools could face revamp at science SATs are scrapped
Science SATs examinations have been scrapped in a controversial move that looks set to shake up the education system in Britain. The traditional test for 11-year-olds will be replaced by teachers marking their pupils' work.
Maths and English SATs will remain in place for now but this move is likely to revamp the learning system to keep in tune with contemporary students' aspirations.
Some teaching unions have welcomed the move and wish to place more emphasis on the teacher's ability and practical lessons rather than external presences and exams which have been deemed too stressful for pupils and time consuming for staff.
But which subjects should be taught in todayÂ’s class rooms and could prove more beneficial for pupils if they were more up to date?
