Argentinean Banking Crisis (2002)
Attempting to prevent a total collapse of the economy, in April 2002 the Argentine government ordered the closure of all of the country's banks leading to mass rioting, to a point where some protesters were open fired on.
Tax evasion, rising unemployment levels and increasing public debt saw customers attempting to take out their money and convert it to dollars abroad. However when all banking and foreign transactions were vetoed further conflicts ensued.
