Who really killed JFK and why? That's what the ever-controversial filmmaker Oliver Stone asks and apparently answers in this engaging epic drama based on the true story of New Orleans DA Jim Garrison (Kevin Costner) - the man who didn't buy the FBI's official story and instead took his theories to court, uncovering a conspiracy so strong that it forced the case to be re-examined.
While the film is a whirlwind of dialogue, editing, sounds and masses of plot, don't be put off by its confusing and bewildering style. It is made to contradict and force questions out of its viewers, but its eclectic roster of talent make 'JFK' unflinching in its appeal. The cast is magnificent - Costner, Tommy Lee Jones, Gary Oldman, Joe Pesci, Jack Lemmon, Sissy Spacek, Donald Sutherland, John Candy, Kevin BaconÂ… the list goes on and on. So does the debate raised by this highly potent film.
