An all out slugfest that only took place because Lewis' original challenger, Kirk Johnson, pulled out, injured two weeks before the fight. Lewis was rocked by the big Ukrainian several times before landing a punch that caused a nasty cut above Klitchko's left eye - which eventually led to the fight being stopped. Lennox retired after the fight and Klitchko was left nursing a sense of injustice and a very sore eye.
