The console: Nintendo Entertainment System

The NES was one of the first home gaming consoles and thanks to a cunning little package that saw the machine bundled with a rather tasteful red and grey light gun and a game all about shooting small, cute animals it was a huge success.

By today's standards this may all seem a little backward - hardly 'Time Crisis'. But back in the day this really was cutting edge technology. It gave the people of the world their first real experience of what was to come.
