The poor blue Smartie was outlawed years ago when Nestle banned artificial colours from their sweets. There was, at the time, no natural blue pigment.

However, thanks to the wonders of extracting colours from seaweed, the blue Smartie has made a triumphant return alongside the seven other existing colours. Smarties did have the answer after all!
