White tattooing is all the rage in recent years with a plethora of stars such as Kate Moss and Lindsay Lohan endorsing the less visible version of classic ink work. Lohan's is a simple text job stating "breathe" which she got because she can "forget to breathe sometimes".

However owners of white tattoos are reporting that their ink doesn't have the same staying power as traditional black ink, with some designs going grey, flaky and even raising out of the skin prompting an additional black tattoo to cover the botch.
