This compact Sanyo stands out from the crowd, though some users may find the unique shaping more of a drawback than appealing.

For its price it is great value ideal for budding enthusiasts. There is a complex yet somewhat confusing menu system that does, however, give plenty of manual controls and even a digital image stabilisation.

In bright light, video performance of the CG10 is superior to the competition for under £300. Colour accuracy is impressive and it has excellent noise levels in still photos, matching the Xacti to expensive, top-of-the-line camcorders. The VPC-CG10 is maybe a little more complicated but definitely comes with a lot more than its rivals.
