Natasha Kaplinsky will be paid 1million a year to present Channel 5's flagship news programme, a figure even she says is crazy.

Natasha said on the matter, "Five seems to think I'm worth it, but how can anybody justify that? A dustman is worth 1million as far as I'm concerned and a doctor is worth 20million for saving lives".

Given that she will only be on screen for less than 60 minutes a night her wage breaks down to an astonishing 74 every 60 seconds.
