Greatest film together:'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolfe?' (1966)
Although the costly epic 'Cleopatra' (pictured above) was the film that brought them together for the first time in 1963, it remains an overblown indulgence. 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf' gave both stars a chance to shout and scream powerful dialogue at each other.
In a case of life imitating art, the pair married twice and divorced twice, but along the way they made some great films together which are given a true sense of authenticity thanks to their high profile relationship.
