In 1999 Linford Christie was found guilty of using the performance enhancing drug Nandrolone. He claimed the drugs had been introduced into his system through legal nutritional supplements and has always denied the charges. Christie's ex-team mate Derek Redmond later said of him "He's a well-balanced athlete; he has a chip on both shoulders".
