Kate admitted that her relationship with DJ Darren Emmerson was over live on ITV1's Loose Women, which she presents, in February.

Kate said: "I separated from Darren some time ago and we have worked through this together. We have come to terms with it and are now able to speak about it.

"There is an overwhelming emotion of sadness but it doesn't make me want to scream and shout. It makes me want to learn from it."

The couple had been together for six years and even got engaged in 2007. They also have a son, Ben, together.
