Hollywood's hottest young couple announced their split in December, but there had been rumours their relationship was close to ending weeks before.

The High School Musical co-stars, who met on the set of the film, had been together for three and a half years.

The pair's break up was revealed as a sad case of growing apart and there was no third party involved.

One source told usmagazine.com that "they are still talking and still friends. There's no drama. No one cheated. They just grew up."
