Britain's biggest heists
February 22 2006 - Securitas depot, Kent
Five armed robbers were found guilty of the record breaking £53m Securitas heist, after forcing their way into the building with the manager's wife and young child held at gunpoint. The robbers' bid to snatch £206m was thwarted by the deliberate marooning of the forklift truck used to get the money into the van, thanks to manager Tony Mason's delaying tactics. The convicted five were: Emir Hysenaj, Lea Rusha, Jetmir Bucpapa, Stuart Royle, and Roger Coutts.
However, millionaire John Fowler walks free even after the police uncovered £30,000 in Securitas wrappers on his property. He claimed he was sleeping at the time. Sean Lupton is another suspected member who is believed to be a fugitive in Cyprus with £32m.
