Scientists attempted to control the flight of pigeons - by planting a revolutionary microchip in their brains. A remote control signal from an operator on the ground tells the bird to go up, down, left or right.

But while the Chinese boffins behind the experiment rejoice, UK pigeon racing expert Lee Fribbins isn't quite as enthusiastic. Lee told The Sun: "It would take all the fun out of the sport." He asked: "What next - remote-controlled greyhounds and horses?"
