This is no beauty secret but the majority of us will leave old make up in the bottom of the bag until it is well out of date and then use it when we run out of our new stash.

Old make up can carry bacteria which can create spots and blemishes. Mascaras only usually last six months and if used for longer can lead to eye infections such as conjunctivitis.

Just throw it away! ItÂ’s also a great excuse to go on a spree in your favourite beauty shop.
