The former president was taken to a hospital last month due to bronchitis-like cough. He’s now in intensive care with a “stubborn fever."

More than a month since he was taken to the hospital due to bronchitis-like cough, The health of Former President George Bush Sr has taken a turn for the worse and he is now in intensive care unit. Jim McGrath, the spokesman of the former president confirmed the news and said it was because of “stubborn fever.”
He said: "He's had a series of setbacks now that have landed him in guarded condition in the intensive care unit.”
"Early last week it was really looking good, but then it seemed a couple of dominoes started falling and it was taking us in the wrong direction."
He added: “Doctors continue to be cautiously optimistic about the current course of treatment.”
Initially, the doctors were hoping to discharge the former president in time for Christmas. However, due to recent developments, they were forced to have him spend the holiday in the hospital where he is joined by his wife Barbara, son Neil, and grandson Pierce.
McGrath confirms the report saying: "His family was with him, and he's conscious and he's able to engage in humorous banter with his doctor."
