Myths busted! How NOT to banish a cold this winter
Washing isn't a germ killer
Germs can spread very easily, mainly through touch, and your washing machine is a haven for them to breed in. Infected clothes washed with others mean that bacteria can easily be transferred and can also infect your hands.
Despite washing killing up to 99 per cent of all germs, they can still find a place to multiply within the machine itself and of course in nooks and crannies of clothing.
