England Euro's Ring Of Steel

The game in Marseille has been classified as high-risk as both countries are involved in ongoing bombing of Syria.

French anti-terror police are to throw a ring of steel around England's opening game against Russia amid fears of ISIS-style attack.

 

Tougher security measures will be implemented and a large exclusion zone will be created around the Stade Velodrome. Only ticketed fans will be allowed through. Armed undercover anti-terror officers will also mingle with supporters outside local bars and restaurants.

 

A source said: "The tournament as a whole will have the tighest security of any sporting event ever.

 

"The fact that England and Russia are playing each other in Marseille is an added complication."
