Disney has confirmed that its upcoming streaming service, Disney+, will feature the studio’s extensive and impressive back catalogue.
Disney CEO Bob Iger announced the news saying that fans will have access to animated classics that “at some point fairly soon after launch” as well as films that are “traditionally have been kept in a vault and brought out basically every few years.”
The vault includes the likes of Disney's most popular films, such as The Lion King and Cinderella, as well as some questionable straight-to-video sequels, like The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea and the underappreciated 101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure (!).
Disney has also revealed that it has recently commissioned an original series based on its iconic villains exclusively for the platform. It would be developed by Michael Seitzman and Steve Pearlman and would be entitled Disney Villains.
