Coronation Street's Sally Webster will call time on her marriage to hubby Kevin, according to soap insiders.

In the ongoing ratings war with rival show EastEnders, Corrie writers are looking for another gripping storyline.

According to the Daily Star, Sally will finally realise that she only remarried Kevin for the sake of their children and that she doesn't really love him.

Her depression comes to a head when hapless Kev suggests a romantic getaway to celebrate their anniversary.

"Sally is horrified," a Corrie source told the paper. "It's as if she's suddenly realised that the remarriage is a sham."

Sally, played by 41-year-old Sally Whittaker, has been hard at work on various money making schemes to pay for her daughter Rosie's private education.
