Christmas TV or Streaming?
UK to choose TV over streaming for Christmas entertainment, a research has claimed.

Over 70per cent of the UK population will choose traditional TV over streaming services to watch local shows for over three hours on Christmas Day, a recent research has claimed. According to the figures released by Attest, a consumer intelligence platform, broadcast TV remains popular that two-thirds of UK viewers will continue to buy a physical TV guide to keep up with holiday programming.
Despite a distinct shift towards streaming services in recent years, Attest said that seasonal specials, including Doctor Who, Coronation Street and Strictly Come Dancing, will help get the viewing public to sit in front of their television during festive dinners and present unwrapping.
Jeremy King, CEO of Attest, said: “With consumers set to return to traditional media, broadcasters have a clear opportunity to showcase both their holiday programming and their 2019 productions to sustain longer-term viewer numbers and maximise growth on their own streaming platforms. For advertisers, understanding where consumers are most likely to congregate is vital to maximise brand and product exposure – whether it’s lining up their ads alongside the public’s favourite Christmas hits, or their most loved festive films.”
